Homework for tonight is to do the predator/prey graphing assignment - see below for the handout if you need it.
Homework for tonight is to write up your origami bird lab - hopefully you got a lot of trials to see a trend. We'll talk about it tomorrow. Check out the last couple of video links on the powerpoint from today - they are interesting. I've given you all access to your Freshgrade accounts - I'll go over how to access them tomorrow. All handouts from the last two classes are below.
Homework for tonight is to finish off your Dichotomous key - MAKE SURE IT'S DONE FOR TOMORROW, OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!!! See last day's post for the sheets if you need them again. Here is a link to Charles Darwin's manuscripts - Check it out!! http://www.amnh.org/our-research/darwin-manuscripts-project/edited-manuscripts Also, here is a link for a 20 min video on evolution - you might find it interesting. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AuxzLN5hkVXLhW48hZzAjsMFSyF-
Homework for tonight is to finish off your Dichotomous key. See yesterday's post if you need another copy. I've posted today's notes - we'll finish them tomorrow, but you can go ahead and finish them if you like.
Homework for tonight is to do the Pamishan exercise - naming the creatures using the key given. This is due tomorrow. The second item for homework is to make a dichotomous key of your own for the 29 creatures given to you. You need to submit a flow chart and a key (table), as well, you need to name each of the creatures using binomial nomenclature. Lastly, I'd like to have a classification quiz tomorrow - covering the binomial nomenclature, the 6 kingdoms, and dichotomous keys. All handouts are below.
Homework for tonight is to finish the 'Cut/Paste' classification worksheets. I've put up the notes for 'Dichotomous Key' so you can look ahead, but we'll finish them in class tomorrow. Tomorrow, we'll make our own dichotomous key.
Sorry about the late update - I haven't been able to get on my computer until now. Homework for Monday is to finish the 18.3 'Section Assessment' questions on the photocopied text sheet. (I don't seem to have a digital copy available, so hopefully you guys got it from my TOC). Also, do the 'Kingdoms of the Living World' coloring sheet - the instructions are on the front, and you color the back.
Apologies for the late update - I wasn't able to get on the computer all afternoon. Not sure if anyone will see this, but it's all here if you need to look back... I've uploaded today's handouts, and the answers to the metric conversion worksheet. Tomorrow, remember that you have your Intro Unit test - I was hoping to have your Scientific Method quiz marked for you, but didn't get to it tonight - I'll have it done for you by Monday. The test will cover the Scientific Method, Experiment Design, Graphing, Scientific Notation, and Metric conversions.
Homework for tonight:
1. Finish off your paper towel lab - write up your data and conclusion. The conclusion should include: - a quick summary of what the experiment was about - summarize your results - which brand of towel was the most/least absorbant - did the results match your hypothesis? Did you find any surprises? - What sources of error did you notice? - what would you do differently next time? How would you improve your experimnet? 2. Do the graphing worksheet - I'll post it a bit later tonight when I get home if you need another copy. Back to 'normal' - hopefully. I'm hoping that winter is done with us, and we can start planning for spring break :-) Homework for the weekend: 1. Make sure you've finished designing your paper towel experiment - we're going to carry it out on Monday. 2. Study up on the parts of the Scientific Method and Experiment Design because there will be a short quiz on Monday.
